FHA loan limits in Florida (2026)
FHA loans have a maximum loan amount that depends on the county. Here are the 2026 figures and what they mean for you.
| 2026 limit, one-unit home | Amount |
|---|---|
| FHA "floor" (most Florida counties) | $541,287 |
| FHA "ceiling" (highest-cost areas in the US) | $1,249,125 |
| Conventional (conforming) limit, most areas | $832,750 |
Higher-cost Florida counties can have FHA limits above the floor. Limits are also higher for 2- to 4-unit homes. Check the limit for your county on HUD's site ↗
What the limit means
- The limit is the most you can borrow, not the most the home can cost: with a larger down payment you can buy a more expensive home.
- FHA needs as little as 3.5% down and is more flexible about credit, but has mortgage insurance.
- Above the limit, a conventional or jumbo loan may fit better.
